We offer a range of RYA recognised training courses, delivered by our small team of volunteers led by Eric Finlayson, our Chief Instructor.
Complete beginners are welcome on our Level 1 courses, but we can also offer "improvers" courses to members who have already mastered the basics. We provide the boats and the buoyancy aids. You do the rest.
Our training standards are set and maintained by the RYA. They prescribe the syllabus, train our instructors and carry out an annual inspection to make sure we are doing it right.
Sailing on the Thames can be challenging. Although strong winds are uncommon (but not unknown), you will learn to deal with currents, obstacles and other river traffic. Once you have mastered that, you can sail anywhere.
